Eric Ryan

I have been a backyard Rollerman since the beginning in 1967. I've been fascinated by the idea that there's truly no other animal whose relationship with humans spans as far and wide as the Birmingham Roller. They are "Humankinds Artists in the Air". I feel that my bind with them brings me closer to my fellow humans. Living in Northern California all my life has allowed me to keep the birds flying most of the year except a winter rest. It's a daily surprise to release the birds that lifts my spirits. Keeping only a few kits and five breeding pairs helps keep it simple and not have to pick up the whirlwind of feathers and everything else involved with this game. My birds aren't the best, but duds neither, they bring something good whenever i fly them. I have seen them deep, and short snappers and try to keep up the quality without losses. I can't wait to see what's next.
