Before we had a good understanding of the colors in Birmingham Rollers many names existed for the various combinations. Here are a few.
Strawberry
Eddie King Jr. provided us this picture of a hen that back in the 1970s and ’80s we called this a strawberry. That “stitchy” or “broken” look to the feathers earned it the name. Now we understand it is just grizzle, generally over a spangle.
