Proposals regarding the elections of the President and V.P.
There are two related proposals listed below regarding the elections of the President and the V.P. Please vote on both of these.
Proposal #1:
A.Keep the existing sectional rotations as spelled out in Art. 4, Sec. 3 of the current by-laws.
B.Remove the current rotation format and allow the President and V.P. to be nominated and/or chosen from any section across the U.S., provided that both are not from the same section.
Proposal #2:
A.Keep the existing 2-year term of office for both the President and V.P. as spelled out in Art. 4, Sec.1; and Art. 4, Sec 5, #1 of the current by-laws.
B.Keep the existing 2-year term of office for both the President and V.P., but remove Art. 4, Sec. 5, #1 and allow both to succeed themselves and be voted in again for one additional term of office. The Director-at-large would become an appointed position in the second term and until the out-going President assumes that position.

NBRC Item 2025-002
Band Secretary
Appointed band secretary shall serve without term limits, subject to the right of appointment and removal by the President, in his sole judgment and determination. No approval of the Executive Committee shall be required for the appointment or removal of band secretary.
A NBRC band secretary’s duties include:
Ordering and issuing bands
The secretary is responsible for ordering and issuing bands in accordance with the policies of the National Birmingham Roller Club.
Keeping records
The secretary keeps records of who has purchased NBRC lettered bands and mails out bands to members that have ordered bands no
later than December 15.
The secretary at the end of each year sends a copy of that year’s band records to the NBRC Secretary/Treasurer so that those records may be
stored in the NBRC cloud account.
Funds:
The band secretary shall have a bank account for the sales and purchases for NBRC lettered bands. They shall bimonthly report the accounts activity to the NBRC Sec/Trea so as to be reported in the bimonthly NBRC bulletins.
The band secretary shall transfer funds from the band account when requested by the NBRC Sec/Trea.
Accessories Secretary
Appointed Accessories secretary shall serve without term limits, subject to the right of appointment and removal by the President, in his sole judgment and determination. No approval of the Executive Committee shall be required for the appointment or removal of the Accessory Secretary.
Ordering and issuing accessory items
Accessory Secretary duries include:
The secretary is responsible for ordering and issuing accessories in accordance with the policies of the National Birmingham Roller Club.
Keeping records
The secretary keeps records of who has purchased and mails out accessories as they are ordered in a timely manner.
Once per year they shall furnish a detailed list of what they have in stock to the NBRC Secretary/Treasurer per the NBRC bylaws.
Funds
The accessory secretary shall have a bank account for the sales and purchases for the NBRC online store. They shall bimonthly report the
accounts activity to the NBRC Sec/Trea so as to be reported in the bimonthly NBRC bulletins.
The accessory secretary shall make purchases for the store as needed to restock the store.
They shall transfer funds from the bank account when requested by the NBRC Sec/Trea.
Webmaster
Appointed webmasters shall serve without term limits, subject to the right of appointment and removal by the President, in his sole judgment and determination. No approval of the Executive Committee shall be required for the appointment or removal of the Webmaster.
The job requirements of a typical web master are limited to performing system upgrades, updating website content, maintaining a working deployment of applications, be it web application or auxiliary applications, and making sure domain names, SSL encryption certificates, email forwarding and services, and any other certificates are up to date. Creation of secure portals so that other trusted individuals can post scores,
have a secure site for online voting, and or add auction items. They shall also maintain and administer an auction site on the NBRC club website.
The webmaster when asked will provide all information such as passwords, usernames, etc.
The Webmaster will be directly responsible to the NBRC Secretary-Treasurer and the NBRC President for any and all decisions concerning management of the above-mentioned club site. There shall be 2 NBRC members that have administrative rights to the site besides the appointed Webmaster.
Junior Program Coordinator
The Junior Program Coordinator shall serve without term limits, subject to the right of appointment and removal by the President, in his sole judgment and determination. No approval of the Executive Committee shall be required for the appointment or removal of appointed national officers.
Program Development:
● Assisting in creating program curriculum, lesson plans, and activity schedules.
● Contributing to the development of program materials and marketing materials.
● Supporting the research and identification of potential program needs and
target audiences.
Logistics and Operations:
● Managing program registration, including participant communication.
● Maintaining program records, tracking attendance, and collecting necessary data.
Participant Engagement:
● Assisting with participant recruitment and outreach efforts.
● Facilitating program activities and providing support to participants.
● Managing communication with participants, including sending reminders and updates.
● Reporting bimonthly to the Publishing Editor for reports for NBRC bulletins.
Executive Committee Moderator
Executive Committee Moderator shall serve without term limits, subject to the right of appointment and removal by the President, in his sole judgment and determination. No approval of the Executive Committee shall be required for the appointment or removal of appointed national officers.
An executive committee moderator’s primary duty is to facilitate productive discussions within the committee by keeping the conversation focused on the agenda, managing time, ensuring all members have a chance to contribute, and summarizing key points while maintaining a neutral stance to guide the group towards informed decision-making; essentially acting as a neutral facilitator to steer the committee’s deliberations effectively.
Key responsibilities of an executive committee moderator include:
Setting the agenda and managing time:
Clearly outlining discussion topics, allocating appropriate time for each item.
Encouraging participation:
Actively soliciting input from all committee members.
Clarifying points and summarizing discussions:
Asking clarifying questions to ensure understanding, summarizing key points raised during discussions, and identifying areas of consensus or
disagreement.
Maintaining neutrality:
Avoiding personal opinions or biases, facilitating open debate without taking sides, and creating a safe space for candid discussion.
Decision-making facilitation:
Guiding the committee through the decision-making process, ensuring all relevant information is considered before reaching a conclusion.
Organizational skills:
Effectively managing time, agenda items, and meeting logistics.
Legal Advisor
Legal Advisor shall serve without term limits, subject to the right of appointment and removal by the President, in his sole judgment and determination. No approval of the Executive Committee shall be required for the appointment or removal of appointed national officers.
A legal advisor’s duties include:
● Providing legal guidance: Advising clients on their legal rights, responsibilities, and obligations
● Representing clients in court: Acting as an advocate for clients in legal proceedings
● Interpreting and applying legal frameworks: Ensuring compliance and mitigating potential risks by interpreting and applying legal regulations
and policies
● Determining legal issues: Identifying legal issues related to the Club activity
● Solving disputes: Helping to resolve disputes
● Communicating with legal authorities: Delivering expert opinions to help management understand legal matters
● Suggesting courses of action: Advising clients on the best course of action
Facebook Moderators
Facebook Moderators shall serve without term limits, subject to the right of appointment and removal by the President, in his sole judgment and determination. No approval of the Executive Committee shall be required for the appointment or removal of appointed national officers.
Facebook moderators are responsible for monitoring content, enforcing community guidelines, and responding to users. They can also remove
content and ban users who violate the guidelines.
Content monitoring
● Review posts, comments, and messages
● Identify and remove spam, offensive content, and harmful content
● Ensure content aligns with NBRC guidelines Enforcing community guidelines
● Remove content and ban users who violate the guidelines
● Recommend “cruelty checkpoints” for comments that seem cruel or insensitive
● Temporarily close accounts of users who continue to post hurtful material
Facebook monitors should respond to users, their comments,messages,answer questions, provide helpful information, and gather user feedback.
Other duties
● Approve or deny membership requests and posts
● Pin or unpin posts
● Manage crisis situations
● Assist with content scheduling and posting
● Analyze trends and metrics
● Report to the NBRC Officers on user activity, trends, and issues
